Product & Fit
What incontinence underwear actually is, who LushGuard is for and how to choose the right fit.
What is LushGuard™ and how is it different from regular underwear or pads?
LushGuard™ Soft-Fit Leakproof Briefs are reusable incontinence underwear designed for women who experience light to moderate bladder leaks — dribbles when you laugh, sneeze, cough, exercise or can’t reach the bathroom in time.
Unlike regular underwear, LushGuard has a discreet built-in absorbent gusset that:
- Quickly wicks moisture away from your skin
- Locks leaks in a thin absorbent core
- Uses a soft waterproof layer to help protect your clothes
Unlike disposable pads, there is no sticky strip, no crinkly sound and no bulky feeling. It’s designed to look and feel like soft, everyday panties — with hidden leak protection.
Who is LushGuard™ best suited for?
LushGuard is ideal if you:
- Leak a little when you laugh, cough, sneeze or lift something heavy
- Notice post-bathroom dribbles that dampen your underwear
- Sometimes don’t reach the toilet in time and experience small bladder leaks
- Use daily liners or light pads but hate the plastic feel and waste
If you regularly empty a full bladder or have heavy incontinence, you may need higher-capacity products than LushGuard. In that case, talk to your doctor or pelvic floor specialist about the right level of protection.
Do they feel thick or like a “diaper” under clothes?
No. LushGuard is designed with a slim, feminine profile. The absorbent gusset is integrated into the underwear, not stacked on top like a pad.
Most customers say they feel like slightly thicker normal panties, with:
- No plastic rustling or crinkly sounds
- No obvious lines under leggings, jeans or dresses
- Soft fabric against the skin, not paper or plastic
Which size should I choose and what if I’m between two sizes?
LushGuard is made to fit like soft, everyday underwear with gentle stretch. For the best fit:
- Measure your hips at the widest point and compare with our size chart.
- If you’re between two sizes, we usually recommend sizing up for comfort.
- A snug (not tight) fit helps prevent gaps where leaks could escape.
If you are unsure between two sizes, start with the one you would normally choose in your favourite underwear brand, then adjust on your next order once you see how it feels.
How many pairs do I need to start with?
It depends how often you experience bladder leaks:
- 2–3 pairs if you only want backup on your most leak-prone days.
- 4–6 pairs if you plan to wear LushGuard several days a week.
- 7+ pairs if you want to replace disposables and build a mostly leakproof underwear drawer.
Many women start with a small bundle, test them at home and then come back for more once they feel how different daily life can be without pads.
Care & Washing
How to wash, dry and look after your LushGuard underwear so they stay absorbent and comfortable.
How do I wash LushGuard™ underwear?
For best results:
- Rinse in cold water after wearing, especially if the gusset is quite damp.
- Machine wash on a cold or warm gentle cycle with similar colors.
- Use a mild detergent — avoid bleach, fabric softener or harsh stain removers.
These simple steps help protect the absorbent layers and waterproof barrier so your incontinence underwear keeps working wash after wash.
Can I put them in the dryer or on a radiator?
We recommend air drying your LushGuard underwear — flat or on a drying rack — to extend the life of the waterproof layer.
If you need to use a dryer occasionally, choose the lowest heat setting and avoid over-drying. Very high heat (including putting them directly on a radiator) may shorten the life of the leakproof layer.
How long will LushGuard™ underwear last?
With proper care, most customers can expect their LushGuard underwear to last for many months of regular wear and 100+ washes.
As with any garment, lifespan depends on how often you wear them, how much they absorb and how closely you follow the washing instructions (especially avoiding high heat and fabric softeners).
Can I wash LushGuard™ together with my other clothes?
Yes. Once rinsed, you can wash your LushGuard underwear with other similar colors. Many women keep a small basket or wet bag in the bathroom and wash everything together every couple of days.
Absorbency, Leaks & Odor
How much LushGuard can hold, what “light–moderate” means and how it handles smell throughout the day.
How much can LushGuard™ actually absorb? Light–Moderate
Our current style is designed for light to moderate leaks. In everyday life, that usually means:
- Dribbles and spurts when you cough, sneeze, laugh or lift
- Post-bathroom drips that normally soak a liner
- Occasional small bladder leaks during the day
It is not designed to replace products for heavy incontinence or full bladder emptying. If you regularly wake up in a soaked pad or empty your bladder accidentally, you may need a different level of protection.
Can I wear LushGuard™ at night or for long journeys?
Many women use LushGuard for light night-time leaks and on long car or plane journeys as an extra layer of security.
If you tend to have heavier leaks when you sleep, we recommend:
- Starting with shorter test nights at home
- Pairing LushGuard with a light pad or mattress protector at first
The goal is for you to feel secure, not to push the underwear past their intended absorbency level.
Will LushGuard™ help with odor as well as leaks?
Yes. The inner layers are designed to wick moisture away from your skin and lock it in the absorbent core, which helps reduce the warm, damp environment where odor develops.
Combined with regular washing, most women notice they feel fresher at the end of the day compared to wearing disposable pads or liners.
Can I use LushGuard™ together with pads or liners on heavier days?
Yes. On days when you expect heavier leaks, some women choose to pair LushGuard underwear with a thin liner or pad for extra peace of mind.
The underwear then acts as a backup if the pad shifts, leaks or overflows — giving you more security than regular panties alone.
Can I use them for periods or spotting as well as bladder leaks?
LushGuard is primarily designed for bladder leaks and light stress incontinence, but some women do use them on:
- Very light period days
- Spotting between periods
- Post-partum dribbles combined with light bleeding
For heavy menstrual flow, treat LushGuard as a backup layer and continue using your usual period protection.
Health, Comfort & First-Time Use
How LushGuard feels on sensitive skin, how to start wearing them and when to speak to your doctor.
Are LushGuard™ briefs suitable for sensitive skin?
LushGuard is designed to feel like soft everyday underwear and to sit smoothly against the skin without scratchy edges or plastic surfaces.
If you have very sensitive skin or a history of allergies, we always recommend:
- Washing your new underwear before the first wear
- Wearing them for a few hours at home first to see how your skin responds
- Speaking with your healthcare provider if you have concerns about materials on your skin
How should I test LushGuard™ the first time I wear them?
To build trust in your new leakproof underwear, we recommend:
- Wearing LushGuard first for a few hours at home on a normal day
- Gradually increasing wear time as you see how they handle your leaks
- Using darker outer clothing the first time if that helps you feel more relaxed
Most women report that after one or two “test days”, they feel much more confident going out in LushGuard without backup.
Do LushGuard™ briefs help with confidence when exercising or doing yoga?
Yes. Many women with stress incontinence find LushGuard especially helpful for:
- Gym classes, yoga, Pilates and walking
- Light jogging or strength training
- Everyday activities like housework or lifting grandchildren
Knowing that small leaks are absorbed discreetly can make it easier to move freely without constantly thinking about the nearest bathroom.
Should I also see a doctor or pelvic floor specialist about my bladder leaks?
LushGuard is designed to manage leaks discreetly, but it does not replace medical advice or treatment.
If your leaks are new, getting worse or affecting your quality of life, it is always a good idea to speak with your doctor or a pelvic floor physiotherapist. Many women see real improvements with exercises and personalised treatment — and use LushGuard as a comfortable safety net while they work on the underlying issue.

Guarantee & First-Order Safety
What happens if LushGuard doesn’t feel right for your body, or the absorbency isn’t what you expected.
What if LushGuard™ doesn’t work for me or my leak level?
We want you to feel safe trying something new. That’s why we offer a risk-free period on your first order.
If after trying your first pair you don’t feel more confident than in pads or regular underwear, reach out to our support team within the trial window and we’ll help make it right according to our guarantee policy.
How should I decide if the absorbency is right during the trial?
During your first wears, ask yourself:
- Do small leaks stay inside the underwear without reaching my outer clothes?
- Does my skin feel reasonably dry and comfortable?
- Do I feel less worried when I laugh, cough or go out?
If the underwear is constantly reaching its limit or you still feel unsafe, contact us so we can help you decide if LushGuard is the right level of incontinence underwear for you.
If you’re new to leakproof incontinence underwear, we recommend starting with Product & Fit, then reading Absorbency & Leaks to make sure the protection level matches your daily life.
LushGuard is designed to help you live more comfortably with light–moderate bladder leaks. If you experience sudden, heavy or painful leaks, always speak with your doctor or pelvic floor specialist. Managing the cause and the symptoms together gives you the best long-term results.
